We have covered the battle of police officers and police departments extensively over this last year, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

In California, law enforcement has often been at odds with our terrible governor, and we have covered that extensively, too.

However, this officer explains in graphic detail why it is imperative that Gavin Newsom be recalled.

Newsom is still at it, despite facing a Recall election. In his quest for criminal justice reform, he continues to allow more prisoners to be released into the population. Sadly, California voters facilitate this by voting for politicians and policies that further this so-called reform.

California is giving 76,000 inmates, including violent and repeat felons, the opportunity to leave prison earlier as the state aims to further trim the population of what once was the nation’s largest state correctional system.

More than 63,000 inmates convicted of violent crimes will be eligible for good behavior credits that shorten their sentences by one-third instead of the one-fifth that had been in place since 2017. That includes nearly 20,000 inmates who are serving life sentences with the possibility of parole.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told FOX 11 that the voter-approved Prop 57 gave them the authority to give inmates more chances to earn good conduct credits.

“That was a very unwise thing to do, I don’t think most people really knew what they were voting for, and now we’re seeing it come to fruition,” said Kent Scheidegger, with the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation.
